Naomi Hollingsworth
Naomi was introduced to the practice of yoga and eastern philosophy by her mother when she was a small child and it has influenced and shaped her entire path in life. Early in 2001, after taking her first Ashtanga Yoga class, the fire of Yoga and teaching were lit in her heart. Three days after that Ashtanga class Naomi found herself gathering anyone who was gracious enough to support her, and began practice teaching out of her sister’s living room. Naomi completed her first yoga teacher training in 2005 and is a certified Experienced – Registered Yoga Teacher (E-RYT) through the Yoga Alliance. She has also completed the J.A.I. Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training Program in 2008 with Jennifer Grey at the Yoga Center of Minneapolis. Currently Naomi is working on her Professional Yoga Therapist certification with a focus on cardiac, anxiety and joint issues through the Integrative Yoga Therapy program with Lilian and Joseph Le Page, Beth Gibbs, and Maria KaliMa. She has also had the pleasure of studying with many well respected teachers and gives thanks and gratitude to her main influences; Paul Grilley, Dharma Mittra, Maria KaliMa, and Rod Stryker.

Naomi teaches both public and private yoga classes and workshops, and is also one of the teachers and mentors in the Yoga Center of Minneapolis’s 230-hour Yoga Study Teacher Training Program. Naomi’s yoga classes are a balance of physical challenge, mindful awareness and playfully experiencing the moment. She is always helping and encouraging her students to find their own way into their personal “sweet spot” in every yoga posture and movement, which is the perfect balance between body, mind, and breath. She has a deep fascination with kinesiology and human anatomy and the potential of the body/mind/breath connection to bring awareness of the true Self within. The practice of Santosha is one of her favorite practices in yoga ~ Santosha, the practice of being comfortable with all that you do and do not have, and embracing all the experiences of life as opportunities to learn, grow and become whole. In both her personal practice and her teaching, Naomi strives to bring these lessons to life. To read more about Naomi, visit www.hiddenlotusyoga.com
