Join Dharma Mittra, Master Yoga Teacher for a workshop of "the best and most effective methods of Yoga." These workshops and intensives are intended to help students progress quickly along their path of Yoga. Being established in Sattva, a state of mind where notions such as 'I' and 'mine,' the 'doer,' and delusion are all absent, Dharma will teach Dharma Vinyasa for Mixed-Level Intermediate through Advanced Levels. He will also impart the traditional Yogic principles of renunciation, dispassion, reverence, Self-realization, surrender to the Lord, and love for one and all (the basis of all Yoga). Dharma embodies and imparts the virtues of Yoga; kindness, patience, humility, fortitude, humor, selfless service, ahimsa (non-killing), and unlimited love, compassion and understanding for all. Dharma is a beloved teacher still teaching in the traditional way, and emphasizes "complete surrender to the Lord. Without this, there will be no success in Yoga."

Dharma Yoga Hatha Raja II-III - Shiva Namaskar Vinyasa
Saturday, May 31 | 12:00 - 3:00pm | All levels | $55
Where: Downtown Minneapolis Studio
Shiva Namaskar Vinyasa series is a stairway to bliss that reintegrates the continuous flow of prana (cosmic energy) through the spinal column, emanating deep into all areas of the physical, metabolic, intuitive and bliss body.  The Divine active ingredients in this amazing session include carefully selected vinyasa sequences (asanas), breathings (pranayamas), purification/cleansings (kriya) techniques, meditation (dhyana) with powerful and efficient methods, and most importantly yama – “without which there is no success in Yoga”.  This amazing program is loved by students of all styles of Yoga, rooted in classical teachings with contemporary needs in mind. It promotes harmony within all the koshas (layers), so an integrated state of radiant health is achieved, bringing one closer to the true Self within their heart. The carefully selected Yoga postures in the Shiva Namaskar Vinyasa series are inspirational, using sequences that are designed to twist, stretch, manipulate and gain control of the body.  Practice of these asanas strengthens and tones muscles, glands and internal organs.  The postures are performed with slow graceful movements, so fantastic feelings of inner calm and self-control are felt immediately.  With regular practice weight problems and disease are gradually brought to an end, health & stamina is attained & Self-realization can easily follow.  The progression flows in a uniquely challenging yet meditative manner. Most importantly, Dharma infuses the teachings of yama, dispassion, reverence, surrender to the Lord and love throughout the session—“without which, there is no Yoga”. Dharma is a master at helping students at any level lose their fear and become steadfast Yogis in this practice.  Personal attention and helpful hints are given throughout the session as well as direction toward the true goal of Yoga to help you make progress quickly. Dharma Mittra

Shri Dharma Mittra a master Yoga teacher is the founder of the Dharma Yoga Center in New York City. He is most known for his amazing Master Yoga Chart of 908 postures used world wide.

Dharma started teaching in 1967 after 11 years as a full time yogi and "Bramacharia" (a celibate religious student who lives with his teacher and devotes himself to the practice of spiritual disciplines). As a celebrated teacher for many years at his guru's Ashram, he left in 1975 and founded the Dharma Yoga Center. He has basically been teaching daily in N.Y.C. since this time period and has always made himself available for students who need his help and direction.

In 1984 Dharma Mittra completed the Master Yoga Chart of 908 Postures, and offered it to his Guru, Swami Kailashananda and to all Yoga aspirants. He meticulously photographed himself in 908 Yoga Postures, then cut and pasted all the pictures (before the computer age) and designed this truly one of a kind masterpiece. It hangs in the most prestigious Ashrams and Centers worldwide, as a teaching tool and inspiration for all Yoga sadahkas (seekers of truth). Dharma's book is titled "Asanas" 608 Yoga Poses. He is featured as the inspiration and model for Yoga Journal's book Yoga, and in American Yoga.
