These level one classes are for anyone looking to begin yoga in a non-intimidating environment. If you have no or little Yoga experience or looking to start over this class is for you. In this class you will learn to connect with your breath and body through pranayama (yogic breath work) practice, asana and sun salutations. This class is for those looking to challenge their bodies at a pace which is right for you. Please bring your sense of humor, a towel and comfortable clothing to move in. Welcome to Big A#%!™ Yoga! As we continue to bring you more Big A#%!™ classes and times we are also expanding our programming for those of you who have been coming and wish to add more Big A#%!™ classes to your schedule. We can't wait to launch more of what has been one of the most successful programs at the Yoga Center! Whether you are new to the program or a current student please read the following to determine what classes and schedules will be right for you. FAQ What is Big A#%!™ Yoga and why do you call it that? Who should come to Big A#%!™ Yoga and how much do I have to weigh? I have physical limitations - can I come to class? How many times a week should I come? What happens if I miss a class? What is Big A#%!™ Yoga and why do you call it that? This fun, challenging, and inspiring class is designed especially for bigger woman and men who want to begin yoga but want to do it a setting where everyone is similar in size and shape. Instructor and YCM owner Jennifer Gray, (a retired Big A#%!™ herself) will help all students find yoga poses that work for their current body type and create a beneficial yoga practice for all. This is not a sedative class rather a class for those looking to become stronger, more active and have fun. In this class you will: • Create a body mind connection • Learn yoga posses that strengthen and tone • Gain trust and find enjoyment in moving your body • Laugh and have fun!! Big A#%!™ yoga does not focus on losing weight and how you should look. This class strives to help you to building self-trust and learn to reconnect and enjoy your body again. Through this transformation the rest will follow suit as you wish and anything is possible. We call it Big A#%!™ yoga so that everyone knows they are coming to a place where they can laugh and be comfortable with who they are. Any other name just wouldn't be as fun! Who should come to Big A#%!™ Yoga and how much do I have to weigh? Anyone who feels they are out of shape, plus size and simply just wants to be a yoga class with those who are in the same boat. There is no weight requirement - but please be aware that these classes are meant for those who are plus size or close to it. I have physical limitations - can I come to class? We look forward to helping everyone find his or her potential in their own yoga practice. If you are working on getting up and down from the floor we can help you. But please note that Big A#%!™ classes are not necessarily appropriate for individuals with major limitations such as recent knee or wrist surgeries, severe arthritis or an inability to get down to the floor to sit or be on your hands and knees. More classes will be added in the near future to work with individuals who are working on be able to practice yoga with these limitations. If you are unsure of your ability to participate in a Big A#%!™ yoga classes, please feel free to call us for a consultation. As always, with any physical activity, please have doctor's permission to exercise before joining. How many times a week should I come? We highly recommend that you come two times a week if possible. If you can only come out to the Yoga Center once a week, that too is a good place to start. After you get started you can decide if you want to come more often - the more you come the less cost it is per classes! What happens if I miss a class? You can make up a class in any of our Big A#%!™ classes before your expiration date expires. It is helpful if you call to let us know when you will be gone or would like to make-up due to the full classes. Register |

*BIG A#%!™ Yoga Session Make-Up Policy: You may make-up your missed classes by the end of Summer Quarter, September 14, 2008, in any OTHER BIG A#%!™ class. When you attend your make-up class, be sure and sign in at the front desk as a "make-up." Registration Info: Pre-registration and pre-payment is required. Please register early as space is limited. For more detailed information about any of our workshops or events, pick up a flyer at either Yoga Center location or call us at 612.436.4700. Reservations guaranteed only upon full payment. Cancellation Policy: Full payment reserves your space. There are no refunds. If you cancel more than 24 hours prior to the beginning of the workshop, your payment is transferred to a studio credit that you can use for any Yoga Center product or service. Studio credits have no expiration date. If you cancel less than 24 hours prior to the beginning of the workshop, you forfeit your payment. |
