Meditation Description
Research has shown that people who meditate not only age more slowly, but also are hospitalized 87 percent less often then nonmeditators for heart disease and 50 percent less often for all kinds of tumors. With these statistics in mind, why not begin your meditation practice this quarter with our 6 week session?

Enjoy this sampling of meditation techniques guiding you to the blissful silence behind thoughts. Learn how to calm your mind and cultivate greater enjoyment in more of your life. The last half of class is spent exploring Yoga Nidra, the state of blissful rest where the body's natural healing and regenerative processes are nurtured and balanced. No meditation experience necessary. Led by certified yoga teacher Tara Cindy Sherman.

What you will learn:
• The benefits of meditation
• Techniques to help calm the mind
• How to breathe properly and help relax the nervous system through Yogi Nidra (the sleepless sleep)
• How to integrate a meditation practice into your life

Pranayama & Meditation Description
Get a good dose of calm and peace with this class that offers a variety of different breathwork and meditation techniques. Each class will have a slightly different sequence that will allow you to experience the effects of the practice. Great for new meditators looking to start a practice as well as existing meditators looking for new ways to open up to greater peace. Open to all levels. Led by certified yoga teacher Tanya Boigenzahn.

What you will learn:
• A variety of pranayama (breathing) techniques for a variety of intentions
• Meditations to help focus, calm and relax the body breath and spirit using such tools as visualization, mantra, Swara Yoga (science of breathing), and Laya Yoga (chakra purification)
• How to initiate a daily morning meditation practice into your life

The Result: Start your day with a fresh perspective and move forward with shaktipata (grace) and santosha (contentment).
