Instructor & Staff Information
Jennifer Gray

Jennifer is the Owner/Director of Operations at the Yoga Center. She and her husband, Mark, have three amazing kids (see right).

In September 2000 Jennifer opened the doors of the Yoga Center with hopes and dreams of helping people find yoga and rediscover who they are truly meant to be.

A wife, a mother of three, a yoga instructor, and a business woman, Jennifer feels truly blessed to be living a full and meaningful life.

Jennifer has studied with many different instructors including David Swenson, Doug Swenson, Larry Schultz, Janice Clarfield, Richard Freeman, Seane Corn, Gurmukh, Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, Dena Kingsberg and many others that she feels have each influenced her teaching style.

Jennifer created a system for breaking down and teaching the Ashtanga Primary Series for beginners so that anyone who wanted to try this challenging form of yoga could come into a non-threatening environment and begin building confidence and understanding within each pose.

In 2001 after having her third baby (Isabel), Jennifer created a sequence of Yogic Meditation and Pranayama (breath work) for labor and delivery along with a prenatal yoga practice during pregnancy. She holds weekly prenatal classes for mom and monthly Yoga for Labor and Delivery workshops for both mom and birth partner. She says she truly enjoys hearing all of the birth stories and sometimes even gets to attend one!!! She is in the process of creating an intensive workshop to share this system of prenatal yoga with other instructors.

In the fall of 2002 the Yoga Center Launched its first Yoga Study program. Jennifer Had a vision to offer a year long program for those who were interested in diving into the study of yoga and making a it part of their lives. This program would give each student a a taste of different types of yoga and different instructors who come from different philosophies and back grounds. Her strong belief in helping people find the guru inside of themselves is what lead to this information-packed study.

After the Yoga Journal conference in 2003 Jennifer decided that the women of Minneapolis needed to retreat together more often and the first semi annual women's retreat was created with guest instructor Seane Corn and the amazing female vocalist Suzanne Sterling. This amazing weekend was sure to be the first of many!

Jennifer says that there is a lot more where all of that came from and promises to keep creating new and inovative programing. She also says that none of this would be actually put into motion if it were not for all of the wonderful Yoga Center Family.
