Leah Starr Leah is a certified Hatha and JAI prenatal yoga teacher, currently teaching at the Yoga Center of Minneapolis. In 2003, she completed a yearlong 200 hour Hatha Yoga study program through the Yoga Center of Minneapolis, and in 2005 completed the JAI Prenatal training, also through the Yoga Center of Minneapolis. Her first yoga experience was in 1991 with a gentle teacher who gave her a glimpse of how yoga can improve and bring joy to one’s life. Leah started practicing regularly in 2002. She says working with women who are expecting a baby is a humbling, awesome experience. Leah teaches her classes with gentleness and humor. Her goal in class is for her students to gain strength and flexibility in a noncompetitive atmosphere and leave with an overall feeling of peace and balance. During the past few years she has had the opportunity to study with Nischala Devi, author of The Healing Path of Yoga, Amber Huttner, an Anusara yoga instructor, Doug Swenson, Kim Schwartz and Seane Corn. She considers herself a lifelong student of yoga and will continue to seek out training to enhance her personal practice as well as her teaching style. Leah wants to express her gratitude to her first teacher Marjorie Whites and to her mentors Jennifer Gray and Lisa Bergly. She is married to a wonderful man named Aron and they have two beautiful daughters.
