Tanya Boigenzahn, RYT, RTT, CHTP

Tanya Boigenzahn is a certified yoga instructor and teaches many of the Vinyasa and Beginning Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga classes at the Yoga Center. She also teaches the wellness-based intensive Chakras & Healing Energy. She is one of the Senior teachers of the Yoga Center's 230 and Advanced Yoga Study & Teacher Training programs, directs the 9 Month Yoga Study program, and offers many public workshops and trainings to help students deepen their practice. In her off time, she works as the Art Director or the Yoga Center designing the website, brochures, ads, and creating the look and feel of the Yoga Center. She also operates her healing arts business, Thai Yoga Bodywork, at the St. Louis Park studio which offers Traditional Thai Massage, Healing Touch, Reiki, private yoga lessons, and programs to learn the basics of Thai Yoga Bodywork as well.

Tanya started practicing a variety of yoga styles including Hatha, Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Tantra, Sivanada, Iyengar and Bikram since the early 90s and has been teaching since 1996. She also began meditating at age 15 to help with insomnia and stress, and continues to enjoy daily practice.

With a love for foreign places, Tanya has travelled and worked in a variety of places from London, England to San Francisco, and has studied yoga with many respected teachers. She currently studies Para Yoga with her teacher, Rod Stryker, which draws its philosophy from the three rivers of Tantra, Ayurveda, and the Yoga Sutras. She also considers Dharma Mittra a guru of hers as his joy and happiness inspires her practice and teaching every day. Other teachers she's studied with include: Tias Little, Paul Grilley, Seane Corn, Manju Jois, Doug Swenson, Kim Schwartz, Ana Forrest, John Scott, Beryl Bender Birch, Edward Clark, Julie Lawrence, and Gurmukh. She is honored to be in charge of scheduling all the visiting instructor events at the Yoga Center.

Certified to teach yoga, she completed her 200 hour RYT teacher training at It's Yoga Ashtanga Teacher Training Program in San Francisco with Larry Schultz. She's completing her 500 hour with Rod Stryker. She's also received certificates in JAI Prenatal Yoga with Jennifer Gray of the Yoga Center as well as Prenatal Yoga with Janice Clarfield of Vancouver, BC. She is especially grateful to all of her teachers, yoga and otherwise, who have guided her on her path including Pichest Boonethame, Jonas Westring, Bhagavan Das, Jim Manico, and Carol Schoenecker.

In 2001, Tanya left her dot-com job and started her web/print graphic design company, Soleil Studios, that works mainly with small businesses related to health and wellness including all the web and print materials as well as takes photos for the Yoga Center.

Tanya holds the following certifications: Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT), Registered Thai Therapist (RTT), Certified Practitioner of the Thai Yoga Method, Certified Healing Touch Practitioner (CHTP), Certified Reiki/Seichem Practitioner. Tanya Boigenzahn is approved by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB) as a continuing education Approved Provider.
She is also is recognized Instructor with THAI (Thai Healing Alliance International) for her Thai Yoga Bodywork Practitioner Training Program. She practices her healing arts through the Dharma Wellness & Spa at the Yoga Center, and travels annually to study advanced Thai Yoga with Master Pichest Boonethame of Chiang Mai, Thailand, as well as studies Thai Shamanic Healing techniques and meditation. Her training in Healing Touch is endorsed by the American Holistic Nurses' Association.
