| How to
Get Started 1. Determine what kind of yogi you are. Level 1 Yogi = I'm new to yoga. Level 2 Yogi = I've done some yoga, feel comfortable practicing modifications for poses I'm working on, and want to continue and expand my practice. Level 2/3 or 3 Yogi = I've been doing yoga for awhile, practice a variety of poses including inversions and backbends, and am looking to challenge myself in new ways. 2. Decide what you want to gain from your yoga practice. I'm a Beginner = We have a great selection of Beginning Yoga Sessions, which are geared towards first-time yogis. If you like a rigorous practice, choose Beginning Ashtanga/Vinyasa. If you want a more relaxing practice, choose Beginning Yoga, Beginning Yoga for Flexibility, or Yin Yoga. Beginning Meditators should choose Meditation. I want to stretch and gain flexibility = Any yoga class will help! Or try our Yoga for Flexibility or Yoga for a Better Back sessions. I want to sweat! = See the "Sweat Factor" indicated by chili peppers next to the class names on the studio schedules. Pick a class with 2 or 3 peppers, and voila! Detox away. • I want to challenge my practice = Ongoing classes to take: Ashtanga, Vinyasa Flow. Ready for intermediate to advanced yoga? Try our Vinyasa Workshop. I want to relax = Any Hatha yoga or Meditation class will help. Or try Yin Yoga, Restore & Renew, or Twilight Yoga. I want to take control of my health = Try our Yin Yoga, Yoga for a Better Back, Chakras & Healing Energy, Pranayama/Meditation sessions or Restore & Renew classes. I want to gain spiritual growth = Try Meditation, Pranayama/Meditation, Chakras & Healing Energy or Twilight Yoga. I want to prepare for childbirth = Try JAI Prenatal Yoga or Couples JAI Prenatal Yoga. I just gave birth. What classes are for me? = Try Yoga Bonding® Postnatal Yoga, Yoga for New Mommies, or any Quarterly Session to get your body feeling strong post-delivery. • I’m a bigger person and want to practice yoga in a comfortable setting = Try our Big A@&! Yoga™ classes. • I want to age gracefully = Try Hatha 55 Plus, Yin Yoga, Restore & Renew, Twilight Yoga, Meditation, Hatha Yoga, Beginning Yoga, Yoga for Flexibility. 3. Choose Your Classes.
