The Yoga Center offers 230-hour Training Programs designed for any student wishing to deepen their knowledge of yoga and its philosophies or teach yoga to others. It is our utmost belief that yoga must be woven into your daily life to fully progress as a student or teacher.

We offer the program in Year-long and 9-month formats so that you may comfortably fit your studies into your schedule, and so that you have time to fully absorb the information offered. Both programs contain the same quality training. Yoga Study students will learn from a variety of experienced instructors from different backgrounds and yogic philosophies.

We are a Yoga Alliance Registered School (RYS200).

On The Road Program

Hey Surrounding Communities, you asked for it, we listened!
We've taken our renowned yoga teacher training on the road to you! We have expanded to Rochester, Eau Claire and Stillwater.

Teacher Training/Yoga Study groups meet 1 weekend a month on Friday night from 7pm - 9pm and Saturday and Sunday from 10:00am - 4:00pm on core subjects and technical work in the areas of: Philosophy, Alignment, Anatomy (physical & energetic), Methodology, and Technique Sessions, outside homework and reading is required.

Make ups: If you are unable to attend a class, you may make it up in the Twin Cities.

What are the Yoga Study time commitments?

1 Year Program
Yoga Study groups meet two Sundays each month from 1:00 - 5:00pm on core subjects in the areas of: Philosophy, Alignment, Anatomy (physical & energetic), and Methodology. Over the course of your year long program you are required to attend thirty-four 1.5 hour Technique Sessions®. These sessions focus on various yoga styles and topics specific to asana and pranayama techniques. Choose from: Tuesday 6pm, Thursdays 11am or 7:30pm, Saturdays 1:30pm or Sundays 11:30am and 5:15pm. Students choose when to take other electives, included in tuition (listed below).

9 Month Program
Over the initial 7 months, this program will meet weekly for trainings on a variety of core subjects in the areas of: Philosophy, Alignment, Anatomy (physical & energetic), and Methodology. Students will also be required to attend weekly Technique Sessions®, which focus on various yoga styles and topics specific to asana and pranayama techniques. Choose from: Tuesday 6pm, Thursdays 11am or 7:30pm, Saturdays 1:30pm or Sundays 11:30am and 5:15pm. The last two months include continued technique sessions, finishing electives, and a 15-hour mentorship with a certified YCM instructor of your choice. Mentor groups will meet separate from the classes mentioned above and schedule will be determined by students and mentor.

Our instructors and facilitators are amongst the most senior teachers in the area and have provided the quality and foundation of this program for many years. Together we will introduce you to a variety of yoga styles and traditions to prepare and empower you to teach yoga in the style of your choice.

Upon graduation, you will have experience creating your very own sequences and understand the principles of creating a balanced class for yourself or others. You will also have a deeper understanding of Sanskrit, anatomy, yoga philosophies and traditions. Valuable knowledge and skills to carry you forward in whatever direction your Yoga Path takes you.

Grading policies:
Students earn hours for participation under the guidelines of Yoga Alliance. Students receive a certificate of completion of the contact and non-contact hours they complete, sufficient to satisfy the Yoga Alliance RYT200 standards. Certificate of completion of a program means student has completed all required hours and curriculum content. Certificate is not necessarily an endorsement of teaching abilities. Per Yoga Alliance, no credit can be given for previous trainings toward a 230-hour program certification.

Student conduct policies:
YCM prohibits sexual harassment and sexual assault. Gross disrespect for persons, flouting of common standards of decency, behavior unbecoming of a yoga student, disruptive behavior that demonstrates contempt toward fellow students or the yoga community, theft, or destruction of studio property may result in dismissal from the program. Complaints should be sent to the program director at info@yogacentermpls.com.

Yoga Study Program Policy: Pre-registration and pre-payment is required. A deposit of $575 reserves your space. Please register early as space is limited. For more detailed information, call us at 612.436.4700. Reservations guaranteed only upon full payment.

Cancellation Policy:Each student will be notified of acceptance/rejection in writing. In the event a student is rejected, all tuition, fees and other charges will be refunded. Notwithstanding anything to the contrary, if a student gives written notice of cancellation within five business days of the execution of the contract or day on which the student is accepted, then a complete refund is given regardless of whether the program has started. If a student gives a written notice of cancellation after five business days of the execution of the contract or day on which the student is accepted, but before the start of the program by the school, then all tuition, fees and other charges, except 15 percent of the total cost of the program (15 percent not to exceed $50.00) shall be refunded to the student. If a student gives written notice of cancellation after the start of the period of instruction for which the student has been charged, but before completion of 75 percent of the period of instruction, then student is assessed a pro rata portion of tuition, fees and all other charges based on the number of days in the term plus 25 percent of the total program cost (25 percent not to exceed $100.00.) Any notice of cancellation shall be acknowledged in writing within 10 business days of receipt of such notice and all refunds shall be forwarded to the student within 30 business days of receipt of such notice. This refund policy is not linked to any student conduct policy and any promissory instrument shall not be negotiated prior to the completion of 50 percent of the course. Written notice of cancellation shall take place on the date the letter of cancellation is postmarked or, in the case where the notice is hand carried, it shall occur on the date the notice is delivered to the school. The date of execution of the enrollment agreement shall be presumed to be the date of delivery of the notice of acceptance: and if delivered by mail, the postmark date of the letter of acceptance.
