The Mystical Yogi

This workshop is for those who have been practicing yoga asana (poses) and are awakening to something more. Complement your yoga practice with traditional mystical practices from the ancient and rich history of Yoga and Tantra. We will explore a variety tools to invoke deep seeds of wisdom within our subconscious and allow for greater freedom of expression both internally and externally. Topics include:
• Ancient chants that speak to the divine within
• How to set up and use a puja table
• Meditations to complement your yoga practice
• Pranayama (breath control) techniques to calm and still the mind
• Purification and protection rituals to clear the spaces surrounding your physical and energetic self, as well as your home and workspace
• Yogi Kriyas (actions) to cleanse the digestive and respiratory systems

Yoga for Cardiac/Cancer Wellness

Exploring Pratyahara: Yoga for the Sense Organs

The 5 major senses: eyes, ears, nose, mouth and skin are the tools in which we perceive the world with. They are necessary, but often over-stimulated, sending our body-mind on a never-ending search outside of ourselves for true happiness. During this workshop we will explore practices that support Pratyahara—the 5th limb of Raja/Classical Ashtanga Yoga, meaning sense withdrawl. As we purify our senses and redirect their energy inward we find ease in meditation while gaining access to the well of wisdom within. This inner wisdom guides us to live a life of integrity. You will:
• Learn about the five major senses and how their openness or lack thereof effect how we perceive reality
• Explore a variety of practices to support pratyahara—sense withdrawl, including asana, pranayama (breathing practices) and meditation
• Practice a gentle yoga sequence that prepares the body for seated meditation
• Experience deep meditation that naturally occurs as the senses are turned inward onto oneself
• Learn how to work with your senses to support making good choices in life

Balance Restorative

Half way through the year and mid-way through summer, this restorative will be focused on body mind balance. In the high season of summer and light, take a little time to go inside, literally and metaphorically (your True self). Find homeostasis and replenish yourself. We will begin with a meditation and the rest of the practice will be a combination of yin poses (deep stretches focused on releasing the connective tissue and joints), restorative poses (supported with props), and pranayama (breath exercise) All levels of experience are welcome.Register

Hamstrings Workshop

They effect your practice in nearly every pose. They restrict you if they are tight, and don't provide enough challenge if you are extra loose. Target the hamstrings as we move and warm up the whole body. We will work with modifications for both tight and loose hamstrings. These muscles can be prone to over stretching, pulling or even tearing, we will learn how to stretch safely and actively release tension. Register

New research shows that yoga can relieve both psychological and physical symptoms of PMS. In this workshop you will learn yoga poses, aromatherapy, pranayama, meditation and acupressure techniques all to help reduce the symptoms associated with PMS. You will also learn to identify specific acupressure points that can help with some of the most common PMS symptoms. We will discuss the root causes of PMS, learn about the menstrual cycle from the perspective of Chinese medicine, practice yoga, and end the workshop with acupuncture and healing energy work with therapists Tanya Boigenzahn and Jennifer Johnson. Zen Mama for Birthing
Using JAI Prenatal and Amma Birthing Techniques

Couples will learn a variety of coping techniques for labor and get a chance to practice what they learn under the guiding hands of a yogi and a midwife. Breath work from JAI Prenatal Yoga is taught, along with labor massage, movement, relaxation, and visualization. Special attention is given to the birth partner, who will be mentored in labor support. Great for women who have goals of unmedicated birth, as well as those who are open to pain medication. Register
