Adjusting to Pregnancy

Your body is a temple, especially when it's growing a baby! Taking steps towards optimum health while newly pregnant is the first act of mothering you'll do for your baby. Join Sara in a discussion about natural remedies, easy ways to eat whole foods, avoiding toxins in your environment, the best kinds of exercise, and how to advocate for yourself as a healthcare consumer. Register as early in your pregnancy as you'd like; intended for women up to 20 weeks.

Understanding Birth

Even if hospital childbirth classes don't appeal to you, there's only so much you can learn from a book. We'll reveal how to increase your odds of a faster, safer, easier birth, regardless of your use of pain medication. You'll learn about the mind-body connection, how to cope with pain and fear, and how to write an effective birth plan. This second trimester workshop sets the stage for the Zen Mama for Birth workshop taken in the third trimester.

Zen Mama for Birth: Using JAI Prenatal and Amma Birthing Techniques
Sundays, April 13, May 4 & June 29 | 6:00-9:00pm

Couples will learn a variety of coping techniques for labor and get a chance to practice what they learn under the guiding hands of a yogi and a midwife. Breath work from JAI Prenatal Yoga is taught, along with labor massage, movement, relaxation, and visualization. Special attention is given to the birth partner, who will be mentored in labor support. Great for women who have goals of unmedicated birth, as well as those who are open to pain medication.
